How do you enjoy a stress free holiday

Make this Christmas more enjoyable, by giving yourself a stress free experience

So, how to enjoy a stress free Christmas?

Firstly, what is so stressful about it?

Christmas can be a very exciting time of year, but it’s also an expensive one. It costs us time, money and brain power.

With presents and travel costs to think about, the days leading up to the big day can be fraught with worry if you haven’t got everything sorted yet. When you add in all of the hard work involved in finding the perfect gift for everyone on your list, and then hosting parties or dinners at home (or even travelling back from them), the prospect of enjoying Christmas feels more like a duty than a celebration.

But don’t worry! If this is how you’re feeling about Christmas this year it’s time for some changes! There are plenty of things that will help make your holiday less stressful — start by focusing on these four points:

Give yourself permission to relax (and enjoy) this festive season by looking after your physical and mental health first — from eating well and exercising regularly, sleeping enough hours each night through having plenty of downtime during winter months when we tend not to get enough sunlight — all these things help us feel better physically which in turn means we are less likely to experience stress or anxiety over upcoming events such as family gatherings etc.

The Best Indie NOT SO Christmas Songs of 2022 that will keep you warm and stress free this holiday Season.

I find that sticking to my routine as much as possible during the holidays is really important. I don’t stop taking my walks and I find balance in my diet when I’ve splurged because I know those two things can throw me off quickly.

If you are an artist and you need to be creative as work, then plan in those private creative moments just like you usually do but just cut it down by a bit to accommodate the added events.

I love to paint so even when I’m busy, I make sure I have that hour in my schedule for meditation. The quiet time allows me to unwind and destress while those creative juices flow. It’s essential to my day.

It’s really all about balance.. If you become more mindful of finding balance among all the changes and challenges, you won’t feel as stressed and overwhelmed.

When it comes to Christmas, there are so many things to think about and expectations are really high. People tend to get stressed out during the Christmas season because they don’t know how much time they should spend with their families and how much time they should spend with friends. Finding the right balance can be tricky!

The best way I’ve found of dealing with this is by having a list of things that I want from Christmas instead of thinking about what other people expect from me or what my family expects from me.

Just write down all your wants and needs so when December rolls around you’ll have them ready for Santa!

Aside from gifts, even more important is the gift of time and how you spend it. You need to know how much time you will need to spend working vs playing in November, December and January. Then take that three months and figure out how to balance the Christmas Prep, the parties and gatherings, the work time and vacation time. Make sure you include your prep time for shopping or getting the house ready if you are having company and your personal time in there to decompress.

If writing lists isn’t your thing then here’s another idea: Write down the top three things to prioritize on each day leading up until Christmas Eve (or whatever day is closest for you). This way each day will feel more manageable because there aren’t too many things piled on top one another!

I hope this article helps you to enjoy your Christmas, by reducing the stress and making it a fun time for all. If you have any ideas that we could add to make it even more enjoyable, please let us know in the comments section below!
