Most people know of the term ‘Multi-Level Marketing’ which is just one form of Direct Sales. It’s a great way to make money because it doesn’t cost much to join, you don’t need prior experience in sales, and there are few limits on how many people you can sponsor.

To summarize, retail sales is the act of selling your product to the consumer. Retail Sales has one main customer in mind- the consumer, who will most likely be purchasing with their credit card.

Before you can sell a product to a consumer, they need to know that it exists. Sales professionals use advertising as well as trade shows to get the word out about their products.

Inside Sales is also known as Telesales or Direct Marketing. The role of the Inside Sales person is to call or email a list of potential clients. The goal of Inside Sales is to make contact with prospects to promote, offer services, and answer questions about company products.

Outside Sales professionals rely on cold calling, personal visits, and other strategies to reach potential customers. Depending on the company’s strategy, outside Sales can have a more significant role in terms of revenue generation than inside Sales roles.

Outside Sales usually work full-time hours but their schedules may not be as predictable or structured as those of Inside Sales staff.

What are B2B Sales? As the name suggests, it’s one type of business-to-business (B2B) Sales. This means that you’re an intermediary between your company and another business that buys from you.

For example, a manufacturer might employ an industrial supply firm to buy a certain quantity of raw materials, or a publisher might contract with an advertising agency to market their latest book.

B2C Sales are a process of presenting goods or services to the individual consumer. B2C is a one-on-one relationship with your customers in which they can speak to a real person who will answer any questions they may have.

The customer’s needs come first, and the company has the responsibility to meet them. What is most important about this type of business model is that it focuses on creating effective communication between customers and the company.

In e-commerce sales, for many merchants, the online store is where they focus on their specific product. This, of course, means all the sales or buyers come from that site. When starting an e-commerce store one has to decide how they will promote the products.

There are two main options — SEO and social media. In some cases, a combination of both may be most effective but it’s important to set a strategy early on.

Consultative Sales, the idea that a salesperson helps customers find the best solution to meet their needs, is a selling technique in which the seller seeks to create a personal connection with the buyer.

Consultative Selling doesn’t focus on products but instead focuses on what is best for the customer. It starts with an understanding of who your customer is and where they’re coming from as well as what they need or want.

Agencies play a very important role in sales. Sales and Marketing is the process of creating, communicating, and delivering value for a product or service. A lot of companies hire outside help to do this for them so they don’t have to be in charge of all aspects from inception to execution.

The different types of agencies that exist: there are advertising agencies, public relations firms, media buying agencies, and more. They work together with clients to come up with a plan for their products/services.

Franchises allow an entrepreneur to utilize the knowledge, business methods, and experience of a successful entrepreneur to ensure a profitable start-up. They work by establishing a system that has proven successful for other entrepreneurs, thus ensuring more profit for both the franchisor and the franchisee.

Franchises are structured so that a high level of product or service is offered at competitive prices in return for a regular fee.
