Tanto amor.

Me llevo la mano al pecho. Duele. Es un dolor punzante que consigue por un segundo descolocarme por completo. Hemos aprendido a convivir pero eso no significa que el dolor sea más tenue. A veces…

Developing Tacit Knowledge

A simple diagram for developing tacit knowledge

The D as Diagramming project is about diagramming and tacit knowledge. Since the project (Phase 1) is closed, I am going to move to the topic of Tacit Knowledge.

This morning, I made a new framework called Developing Tacit Knowledge. The diagram is adopted from the Integrated Framework for Studying Knowledge Diagrams.

I didn’t modify the original diagram. The only change is the title. I just renamed it Developing Tacit Knowledge.

What a magic!

The original diagram is adopted from the Stage meta-diagram which is inspired by the Mind as Play metaphor.

The metaphor considers four elements:

1. Object = Actor
2. Activity = Performance
3. Perspective = Stage Lights
4. Domain = Stage

For the Diagram framework, the object is Diagram. For the Tacit Knowledge framework, the object is Tacit Knowledge.

The interesting thing is here, I used “Methods[Concepts(Meta-diagrams)]” to define Diagram. Actually, it is a perfect model for defining Tacit Knowledge.

I think the most important issue about the Tacit is its dynamics. So, I pay attention to the aspect of “Developing”.

This framework is a solution for turning Tacit Knowledge into Explicit Knowledge. Based on the framework, here are some ideas:

1. Develop your Conceptual Spaces and Practical Perspectives.
2. Curate “Meta-diagrams”, “Concepts”, and “Methods” together.
3. Play your knowledge with various formats of activities.
4. Select a domain as a stage, share your personal explicit knowledge with others.

Merry christmas! I wish you and your family health, happiness, harmony, and fulfillment.
